aboard boats on Lake Lucerne.
The most beautiful whisky festival in Switzerland takes place on ships directly in front of the illuminated city of Lucerne. Next to the railway station, three ships are bound together, creating one unique fairground.

The Whisky Schiff Lucerne is an annual whisky fair that has been taking place since 2007. It is one of the biggest whisky fairs in Switzerland and offers visitors the opportunity to taste and buy whiskies from all over the world.
The first Whisky Schiff Lucerne took place in March 2007. More than thirty exhibitors from Switzerland and abroad presented themselves on two ships of the Lake Lucerne navigation company (SGV). In the following years, it developed into the biggest whisky fair in Switzerland and is now visited by nearly 5000 people over three days. Now, after 15 years, there are three ships with around forty exhibitors and two additional ships for masterclasses.
The event is a popular meeting place for whisky enthusiasts from all over Switzerland and surrounding countries and offers visitors the opportunity to taste and buy whisky from all over the world. There are also numerous masterclasses for anyone who wants to learn more about whisky or go into more detail for a single distillery.

I’ve attended this event several times and have always been very impressed by the variety and quality of the whiskies, as well as by the almost family-like atmosphere. The fair is a great opportunity to discover new whiskies and to exchange ideas with other whisky lovers.
The next Whisky Schiff will take place in Lucerne from 29th February to 2nd March 2024.
