Autumn is here, and with it an issue full of celebration, technical insight and experimentation, with a chance to look both backwards and forwards at the world of whisky. Closer to home, we celebrate the new English Whisky GI and some of the amazing producers shaping this exciting category.
Sadly, we have also lost one of our very own. Steve Beal was an industry icon, whisky legend, mentor to many and, most importantly, a great friend. The original Whisky Master, his knowledge, generosity and influence reached across the whisky world. We miss him greatly and are proud to celebrate him in these pages.
Looking to the future, Dolf explores AI and what it might mean for our industry, alongside coverage of maverick and experimental distillers from around the globe. We visit our old friends at Old Pilot’s in Croatia and their creation, Nebo, as well as one of our all-time favourites, Blacksmith from the US.
Plenty to celebrate, plenty to think about, and perhaps a few things to argue about over a dram.
